Where else can you expect a festival to kick off another festival? Key West of course! Taking place in historic Bahama Village, the annual Goombay festival kicks off Fantasy Fest with two days of food, art, music and dancing.
The Goombay festival, named after a goatskin drum with a round or squared top, is a celebration of Bahamian culture in Key West. It takes place Friday and Saturday, October 23-24 from noon until midnight. Stroll just 5 blocks to Petronia Street and enjoy over 50 street vendors serve up delicious bohemian cuisine while you admire art, crafts and soak up the beautiful fall weather!
Non-stop musical entertainment takes place at the festival’s main stage, offering an eclectic variety for everyone, from gospel to reggae. But don’t miss out on the performers on Bahama Street! Donning authentic costumes and headdresses, the performers will have you dancing along in no time.
